Artistic Vision

Like listening to music, which expresses what words cannot, our photographs come from a unique and personal visual expression of all that Italy is to us.

Biography
Craig, a life-long photographer, grew up in Wilmette, IL and studied traditional photography for many years with mentors Richard Olderman, Kevin Dole and Anthony Jones. Having developed an early appreciation for how the computer was changing the photographic medium, he became interested in digital photographic printing processes and he has continued to evolve his technical knowledge of digital image capture and fine art photographic printing methodologies over the years through a series of professional workshops and continual self-study.

Jane grew up in Evanston, IL and her artistic background includes living in Vicenza,Italy for five years. There she began her lifelong study of the fine arts including classical voice and visual arts while developing her creative mind and eye. She later began applying her artistic vision to photography and her images clearly convey her keen sense of composition and artistic abilities.

The Loves have spent the past 12 years developing an extensive body of work, focused on italy. Since their first solo exhibition in 2000, the loves have been exhibiting in juried fine art shows and they have received many awards including “Best of Show.” Their company, FotoAmore Photography, also markets their limited edition fine art photographs through their website, fotoamore.com. This has also led to commercial work in the USA, Great Britain, Australia and Sweden. The Loves are residents of Arlington Heights, IL.

Technical
Our goal is to produce photographs of the highest quality. Our artistic integrity is embedded in our desire to convey what the photographer witnessed when the image was originally exposed and not in an artifically enhanced or manipulated manner. Images have been produced with film-based and, more recently, digital cameras. Finished prints are made archivally on an Epson Professional Wide Format Printer utilizing Ultrachrome Inks on Premium Luster Paper and Artists’ Canvas. Digital darkroom image adjustments are made by the hands of the photographers and are similar to those made historically with a color enlarger in a wet darkroom. All printing, matting and framing is done personally by the photographers.
