Place des Vosges
The Place des Vosges, originally known as the Place Royale, is the oldest planned square in Paris, France. Built by King Henri IV, the square was inaugurated in 1612. Today the square is planted with mature linden trees trees set in grass and gravel. Located in the Marais district, Place des Vosges was a fashionable and expensive district to live in during the 17th and 18th centuries.
